Dr. Joseph Chan
Raised in Mississauga, Dr. Chan completed two years of his Bachelor of Science program at the University of Toronto (Mississauga), before entering the Doctor of Optometry (OD) program at the University of Waterloo. After graduating as an optometrist, he entered private practice with Queensway Optometric Centre, while continuing his studies in a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program at York University, which he finished two years later. He also completed additional training in the use of therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and successfully passed the IAB examination in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease.

In practice, Dr. Chan provides comprehensive eye and vision care for all age groups, with an interest in the care of diabetic patients, children, contact lens wearers and those with ocular pathology.

Dr. Chan remains active in volunteer service to his profession. He has served as President of the Vision Institute of Canada, a notforprofit charitable optometric clinic in Toronto, and also as President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. He has been a guest speaker at numerous conferences and has been featured in several television interviews and print articles.

An avid traveller, Dr. Chan has ventured to all seven continents, including Antarctica in 2005. He enjoys photography, snowboarding and other outdoor pursuits.
